Kim is a solo practitioner based in Beaufort, South Carolina, in the heart of the Lowcountry. She advises healthcare providers and healthcare businesses on the legal and regulatory challenges of working in the healthcare industry, which is unique from other industries.

Before Kim advised independent providers and small healthcare organizations, she worked in healthcare compliance and privacy inside a public safety-net hospital with 8,000 employees. That experience shapes how she works. She looks for practical strategies that fit the way a practice actually runs.
Her healthcare work includes compliance, contracts, operationalizing rules, and responses to government investigations. She also helps trades and small businesses with the agreements behind their work.
Veterans’ benefits work is personal to Kim. Her father served in the Marine Corps and her husband served in the Air Force. She is a VA-accredited attorney who represents veterans and surviving family members, and she is admitted to practice before the Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims.
Kim lives in the Beaufort area with her husband Geoff, their dog Kya, and their cat Delly. She spends as much time in the Lowcountry sunshine as she can, whether she is out on a boat, going to the beach, working through walk and run intervals, or parked with a good book. She also considers living on the coast an excellent excuse to eat a lot of seafood.
From paralegal
to attorney.
Kim spent 12 years working as a paralegal before law school, so she learned how legal work gets done in real life long before she became an attorney. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Ohio University in 2005. She then earned her law degree from Cleveland State University College of Law in 2018 through the part-time evening program, while continuing to work full-time as a paralegal. She knows firsthand what it takes to balance a demanding job with a big goal, which is something many of her clients understand too.
