Helping Providers Stay Focused on Care, Not Red Tape
Supporting healthcare providers who serve their communities—by helping them stay compliant, confident, and focused on care.
Healthcare is complicated enough without having to navigate ever-changing regulations on your own. Whether you’re building a compliance program from the ground up, responding to a federal government audit or investigation by the Office for Civil Rights or other enforcement agency, or just trying to make sure your policies are up to date, I’m here to help you stay ahead of the curve—so you can keep doing what you do best: taking care of others.
I work with solo providers, group practices, and healthcare businesses to build practical, tailored compliance strategies that work in the real world. From HIPAA and fraud and abuse laws to internal policies, training, and risk assessments, my goal is to provide guidance that fits your practice—not a one-size-fits-all checklist.
Having practiced in compliance and privacy in a public safety net hospital for many years, I understand that the rules often don't easily translate to your practice. Operationalizing rules written by agencies that don't understand what it's like to provide healthcare every day is my specialty. I won't just tell you what the rule says, I'll help you comply with the rule while eliminating any downtime for your practice.
You care deeply about your patients and your profession. Allow me to help keep your practice compliant.
Helping Veterans and Their Families Navigate the VA
My VA benefits practice focuses on helping veterans and their families navigate the VA benefits system—because you've already done the hard part by serving our country.
Whether you’re just starting to think about filing a claim or you’ve spent years fighting without a fair result, I’m here to help carry that load. I represent veterans before the Department of Veterans Affairs, the Board of Veterans' Appeals, and the Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims, and I know how overwhelming this system can be.
Helping veterans is personal for me. My family's service spans all branches—my dad served active duty in the Marine Corps from 1956 to 1961, and my husband served in the Air Force from 1997 to 2001, continuing in the Reserves until 2006. I’m proud of their service, as well as the service of many other family members, and I use that pride and commitment as the fuel to break down the barriers that prevent veterans and their families from getting the benefits they’ve earned.
That commitment includes surviving spouses and children of veterans who gave it all to serve our country. Your spouse or parent made the ultimate sacrifice—and you shouldn’t have to navigate the VA maze alone. Whether you’re applying for Dependency and Indemnity Compensation (DIC), survivors' pension, accessing other survivor benefits, or simply trying to figure out what you might be entitled to, I’ll be with you every step of the way. You’re not just a case to me—you’re part of the community I serve and I deeply care about.
Support for Patients Navigating Insurance and Healthcare Challenges
Navigating the healthcare system can be overwhelming—especially when coverage is denied, bills are unexpected, or access to records becomes a barrier to care. I offer focused, non-litigation support to individuals and families facing these challenges.
Legal services for patients and their families include help challenging denied health insurance claims, including Medicare coverage terminations for skilled nursing care, rehabilitation, or other medically necessary services.
Moreover, if Medicare ends coverage before your loved one is ready to safely return home from a skill nursing facility or otherwise, I guide you through the appeal process with strategic, timely documentation. I can also help you understand your rights under the No Surprises Act and resolve billing issues with hospitals, providers, and insurers.
My passion stems from hard-earned experience. As my mom battled Parkinson’s Disease, I spent far too much time battling the healthcare system—decoding Explanation of Benefits (EOBs), chasing down providers, and advocating for the care she deserved to be paid by her insurance company—when I should’ve been making memories with her. She’s no longer with me, but her journey shaped mine. I honor my mom by helping others navigate the healthcare maze so they can focus on their loved ones, not the paperwork and bills.
